Waratah Coal Pty Ltd is a new coal company which is publicly listed company on the Toronto Ventures Exchange and about to list on the ASX. The Company has assembled a number of exploration projects located in Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory. Having secured funding and strong support for its concepts, we seek the services of a qualified Senior Geologist to manage exploration activities at its Galilee Basin Tenements

Reporting directly to the Vice President - Exploration you will be responsible for:

Management of a small team of in house and contract geologists and field technicians
Maintaining the project tenements in good keeping
Ensuring statutory obligations are met
Engaging and overseeing drilling and other contractors imparting a work ethic in keeping with efficient and safe standards
Effective community and landholder liaison
Ensuring the accurate and efficient collection and interpretation of the project geological data
Creation and maintenance of an effective geological database for the project including historical and recent data
Statutory and internal reporting and project evaluation
Logistics management ensuring that exploration proceeds in a timely manner and goals are consistent with those of the Company

A positive work ethic with a result focus
Effective communication skills being able to deal with a variety of stakeholders
Previous experience in coal exploration
A proven track record of organisation ability
Team leadership skills or the strong desire to manage
A tertiary qualification in geology - backed with practical experience
Experience with relevant geological software
