Waratah Coal Pty Ltd is a new coal company which is publicly listed company on the Toronto Ventures Exchange. The Company has assembled a number of exploration projects located in Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory. Having secured funding and strong support for its concepts, we seek the services of a qualified geologist to manage exploration activities on allocated projects.
Reporting directly to a Senior Project Geologist and indirectly to the Vice President – Exploration you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining the project tenements in good keeping
- Ensuring statutory obligations are met
- Engaging and overseeing drilling and other contractors imparting a work ethic in keeping with efficient and safe standards
- Effective community and landholder liaison
- Ensuring the accurate and efficient collection and interpretation of the project geological data
- Creation and maintenance of an effective geological database for the project including historical and recent data
- Managing the project to ensure that timeframes and goals are consistent with those of the Company
- Statutory and internal reporting and project evaluation
Ideally you will possess:
- A positive work ethic with a result focus
- Effective communication skills being able to deal with a variety of stakeholders
- Previous experience in coal exploration
- A proven track record of organisation ability
- A tertiary qualification in geology - backed with practical experience
- Experience with relevant geological software
